Introducing Footy’s Cooldrink & Flavouring System

Footy’s recently sent me their entire range of very versatile cooldrink powders. They come in 6 yummy flavours and can be used to flavour just about about anything. I’ve used them to flavour a very creamy low fat frozen yogurt and some rooibos ice tee. You can use them as well to make your own jelly and even flavour cheesecakes! You can visit the Footy’s website over here. About Footy’s Cooldrink Benefits Footy’s is based on a sweetener, namely Erythritol and the positive effect this has on oral hygiene. {Recipe} Delicious No Bake Faux Chocolate Truffles

Today I’ll be sharing another favourite from my gran’s recipe file. The are very much literally balls of yummy chocolate goodness and super easy to make. I had to rename them a bit for the purposes of this post because literally translated they’d be chocolate balls and that doesn’t sound as fun as it does in Afrikaans. So here with go with No Bake Faux Chocolate Truffles. We used to make these every Christmas and depending on how many people we’re having over for the festive season we’d easily make the recipe times five! But way back when this post…

{Recipe} Divine Rooibos Tea Chocolate Cake

Being proudly South African I adore rooibos tea and I love cooking with it. This rooibos tea chocolate cake recipe is one of my all time favourite and go-toes. This recipe is from my grandmother’s recipe collection – which I might add is a old file holder filled with cut outs from magazines, I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about. Who else has a file full of old family favourites? I’ve modified this recipe slightly for modern times. The original calls for tea leaves but I found using a rooibos tea capsulre in my nespresso machine works great…

Slow Roasted Pork Belly Roll & Airfryer Roasted Rosemary and Lemon Potatoes

I’m part of a family that enjoys cooking and eating together and I basically grew up in the kitchen. We used to go eat Sunday lunch at my grandparent’s every Sunday. My brother and myself absorbed my gran’s love for cooking and it runs through our veins so we often cook together. A couple of Sunday’s ago we magically made this Slow Roasted Pork Belly Roll () appear in the kitchen. We paired it with Airfryer Roasted potatoes and Peas () We drew inspiration for this Slow Roasted Pork Belly Roll from a recipe Gordon Ramsey had on his facebook…

    Chutney & Mayo Chicken

I’m back with a super easy recipe for chicken. This recipe is probably a favourite in a lot of South African homes and may vary slightly from home to home but it’s just too good not to share! Our recipe is safely tucked away in one of my gran’s recipe binders, I am so grateful that I can page through it and remember all the good times we used to have in the kitchen. This recipe is super easy to follow and you only end up dirtying one mixing bowl and oven dish. A perfect winter evening dish or even…
