Pampering Your Pooch: Good Or Bad?

Dog owners should never feel guilty spoiling their 4-legged friends.  Let’s face it, dogs are a part of the family and the unconditional love they provide to you just can’t ever be matched.  Possibly even from other humans. So, it only seems reasonable that we offer them a luxurious life, right?

What are some of the common ways that we can see other humans spoiling their dogs?  Dogs like to play with other furry friends, so why not enroll them in a doggy daycare?  This can be an expensive luxury for your pet, but it gives them a chance to socialize with other dogs and even perhaps work on some behavior that may not be acceptable at your home.  Be sure to check out some of the pros and cons of doggy daycare before signing up your dog to make sure that it is a good fit.

Pampering your dog is another way to show how much love you have for your buddy.  This could mean giving them a bath or having it professionally done depending on your confidence level.  Have their nails trimmed so that they don’t bite at them and top of their day of cleanliness with a selection of dog bandanas. While in the process of cleaning your dog, learn some methods that you can use to help with any potential fur problems that you may have.  The fur factor provides some practical ideas that can be used to prevent a cloud burst of fur.

Take your dog to the dog park or for a nice, long walk.  This is also a benefit for you to get your exercise in. Allow your dog the opportunity to sniff away and soak up all the wonderful smells the world has to offer.  It helps to spark their curiosity and helps them familiarize themselves with the area. Be sure to follow some of these dog walking tips to make sure that this is a pleasurable experience for both you and your dog.

Finally, allow your dog to roll around on the ground and dig up some holes.  Before you yell at me, this is not recommended to be done at your home or with a neighbor you have a vendetta against.  There could be various open fields that you could find along your walk or a place that you know locally that you can allow them to be free for a little while.  Dogs love the ability to roam free and play. Their goofiness during this time is also a priceless moment for you.

Spoil your dogs each and every day.  They are truly a gift from above and we need to show them the same amount of love and affection that they show us.  Do not overfeed them, though. We know how much dogs love having treats and human food, but you need to make sure that it is done in moderation or else you could make your dog sick.  That is definitely no way to spoil your buddy. Have fun and allow them to embrace their craziness!
