Hi guys! Happy Monday I hope you all had an amazing weekend, let’s dive right into this week. I don’t know about you but I can’t stay away from a good deal so every morning I can’t help myself but to check Takealot’s daily deals and on Tuesday last week I was super excited to see they had solar jars on sale for only R79. Organic Soul Solar Jars

I’ve been saving my ebucks to buy makeup brushes but these jars just bumped my sweet little brushes down to second place and ended up in my cart. Daily deal items are one per customer so hubby ordered one for me as well and I was so excited when they arrived. I love items that are green and I’m currently trying my best to go as green as I can by phasing out all makeup brands that test on animals and investing more in natural skincare brands, every little bit helps right?

The jars provide a warm soft light and I think they will be perfect for a dinner party on the table instead of candles, they will create an amazing atmosphere for evening braais as well. The jars take 6 – 8 hours to charge in full sunlight and 12 hours in partial sun and can be used indoors and outdoors. The jars can stay alight for 5 hours on a full charge.

To turn the jar on you have to align the magnet with the dot on the lid, on top of the lid there is a light sensitive strip that detects when it’s dark and automatically switches your jar on, this makes these jars very handy for loadshedding and power outages, which we have rather frequently where I stay.

I really want to add more jars to my collection and they will kick new makeup brushes to second place time and time again! (sorry makeup brushes….)

What are you doing to go greener ?
