I recently went on a little shopping spree at Dischem and decided to pick up some makeup brushes instead of my regular nail polish and makeup goods because I have plenty! But you can never have enough makeup brushes, when applying your makeup it’s best to use a clean brush for each shade you apply to get the maximum out of each shade. Brush Haul.

I spoiled myself with 5 brushes, 4 of those where from Cala and this is what I got ~ The shading brush – 312, eyeshadow brush – 313, angled eyeshadow brush – 314 and the fan brush – 305. I just love how each brush has a segment on the card of what the brush is used for. All the Cala brushes are made of synthetic bristles and are 100% cruelty free they are really soft and fluffy. If all of this doesn’t have you hooked, the price will, the brushes are priced from only R29 each! The 5th and final brush I got is the 2 in 1 lash & brow comb from Essence

Here is a breakdown of each brush:

Large Shading Brush 312 R29
This brush is used for applying shadow all over the eyelid for even coverage and can be used to blend shades together for a smokey look. This brush is great for applying your base shadow shade.

Eyeshadow Brush 313 R29
This brush can be used for blending colours to add depth and definition. Work shadow shade from lash line to crease to create a smoky look or use this brush to add colour all over the eyelid. This brush is great for applying shades that needs to be more precise.

Angled Eyehadow Brush 313 R29
Use this brush for precise application, the angled bristles let you control the amount of shadow for a customized look, I really like using an angled brush when applying shadow in my crease.

Fan Brush 305 R39
The flat wide bristles of this brush is used to apply powder or bronzer, to create a soft light effect, you can use it as well to build up colour. This brush can be used to sweep away lose eyeshadow as well. I am hoping to master the art of bronzer with the help of this brush, this is my very first fan brush and I’ve been looking for an affordable one all over!

Essence 2 in 1 Last & Brow Comb
This brush is ideal to separate clumped lashes using the little comb to get the perfectly defined lash look, the spooly side is perfect to neaten your eyebrows. I’ve been looking for a spooly everywhere so I just couldn’t help myself when I spotted this duo

I think I should make a point of it to buy a Cala brush or two every month to add to my collection.

Such a lovely hall. Looked at the Cala display today after seeing your Instagram picture yesterday. They have lovely brushes. I want to get the nice big fluffy powder brush next. I have the 313 and 314 brushes of them and must say they are awesome. Have markedly improved my eye makeup! Sure you will enjoy them!
